Born in Greater Manchester but now living in Norfolk, Martin has been a professional writer since the 1990s.

Across Television, Books and Stage

Martin’s career spans continuing drama, crime fiction, biography, theatre and memoir. That range gives him a broad, practical understanding of how stories work across different forms, from the compressed demands of a television storyline to the deeper architecture of a novel, a treatment or a long-form pitch.

He is a member of the Crime Writers’ Association and is represented by United Agents.

Story Consultancy and Speaking

Alongside his own writing, Martin offers selected consultancy for scripts, treatments, series bibles and pitches. He also works with businesses interested in how story structure can improve communication, presentations, leadership messaging and corporate narrative.

He only takes on a limited number of consultancy clients, allowing each project proper attention, careful reading and honest, practical feedback.
